What types of therapy do you offer? I offer a range of therapy services, including Play Therapy for children, Creative Arts Therapy for adolescents, individual talking and creative therapy for adults – including Walk and Talk therapy – and Parent-Child Attachment Play (PCAP). I also offer therapy and Clinical Supervision for trainee and qualified play therapists.
Who do you work with? I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families in Surrey and South-West London, both online and face-to-face.
What is Play Therapy? Play Therapy is a therapeutic approach primarily used with children. It allows them to express their feelings and work through their difficulties through play, their natural medium of communication.
What is Creative Arts Therapy? Creative Arts Therapy uses various creative mediums, such as images, art, sand and symbols, to help adolescents and adults explore their emotions and issues in a safe and non-confrontational way through the use of metaphor and by working with unconscious processes.
What is Walk and Talk Therapy? Walk and Talk therapy sessions take place walking in the outdoors. This can help those who feel more relaxed in a neutral setting, in the open air, or those who find more traditional settings difficult. There are many open spaces, parks and commons in the local vicinity where the sessions can take place.
What is Parent-Child Attachment Play (PCAP)? PCAP is a structured program designed to strengthen the bond between parents and children. It involves teaching parents specific play techniques to foster a more secure and nurturing relationship.
How long does a therapy session last? Generally, a session lasts for 40-50 minutes. This allows sufficient time for therapeutic work while ensuring clients remain engaged and focused.
How many sessions will I/my child need? The number of sessions varies depending on individual needs and circumstances. I typically recommend a minimum of 12 sessions, which we review after 8 weeks to determine if additional sessions are needed.
Do you offer online therapy? Yes, I offer both online and face-to-face therapy sessions to adults to accommodate individual needs and preferences. Child therapy is always face-to-face, sessions taking place in a purpose-built cabin in my garden in Wimbledon.
Do you offer sessions in schools? I am happy to discuss setting up a therapy service in your school; alternatively if this is not feasible I’m happy to have a relationship with a school in which children are referred to me for sessions in my therapy space. If you would like to discuss this further please contact me.
How do I book a session? You can book a session by contacting me via phone, contact form or email to schedule a free initial consultation.
What are your fees? Please contact me directly for detailed information on my fee structure. I am happy to discuss this during our initial consultation.
Are you accredited? I am a member of PTUK (Play Therapy UK) and am on their register of Play and Creative Arts Therapists, which is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. I am also a member of BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists). I adhere to the ethical frameworks of both these bodies.
